| Project 457 | Life extension of crude tanker according to MARPOL 13g |
| Client | Nameseco |
|
IMC Shipping & Offshore Design performed a study into the operational and structural implications of upgrading a 100.000 DWT crude tanker using SBT and HBL. After approval by the owner IMC will perform the detailed engineering and assist the owner in negotiations with the yard. |
| Project 459 | Market Study Product Tanker |
| Client | Anonymous German Client |
|
IMC Shipping & Offshore Design performed a market study for a dedicated Product Tanker. The study contained an analyses of the current fleet including trends for the next few years. |
| Project 452 | Aframax Tanker Design |
| Client | Anonymous Greek Client |
|
Based on questions on stability and outflow performance from two leading shipping companies a conceptual design for an Aframax size tanker was made by our consultants. The goal of the project was to produce a standard 150.000 - 170.000 DWT design that offers maximum flexibility to the operator at minimal operational cost. The yard can sharply reduce the average building cost of this type of tanker while producing tankers that are suited for a large diverse number of trades. |
| Licensing/Sales | The design is available for newbuilding plans. Contact Dr.Markus van der Laan for more information. |
| Project 449 | Specification Review of 45.000 DWT Product Tanker |
| Client | Vroon Shipping BV |
|
The specifications of a Korean yard were subject of study for the design team. On request by the operator that runs a number of product tankers up and down the US coast the specifications were scrutinized and updated to the operators standards. They have become the standard specifications for newbuilding projects. |
| Project 412 | ECO Bulkhead Design |
| Client | ID-NL |
![]() |
The ECO-Bulkhead is a innovative low-cost design of a swash-bulkhead. The primary aim of the swash-bulkhead has traditionally been the reduction of the sloshing forces in large tanks of primarily crude carriers. Recently designs were introduced that utilize them for strength reasons as well. The ECO-Bulkhead combines the dempeningand strengthening properties with a third: reduction of outflow in case of side damage. Making use of the principle of Archimedes the outflow is reduced up to ~50%. The concept is patented worldwide and incorporated in a number of standard tanker designs that IMC Shipping & Offshore Design offers. |
| Licensing/sales | The technology is also available for licensing to yards, owners and Naval Architects. Contact us for information on technical details and fees. |
